The purpose of Southland College is to
provide a tertiary Christian educational community of teaching,
learning and research excellence, founded on Biblically-based,
beliefs, values and behaviour.
Mission Goals
- To communicate the grace and love of
God
- To undertake scholarly and
intellectual research
- To inspire educational research and
implementation of best practice in teaching methodology
- To create a tertiary level learning
community that becomes the provider of choice of undergraduate and
graduate programmes for Christian educators in Australia and beyond.
Purposes
- To provide teacher education courses
at undergraduate and postgraduate levels which assist graduates to
clarify their presuppositions, develop a Biblical world and life
view, and assist students to relate their views to all areas of
their life and teaching;
- To produce graduates for whom
teaching is both a professional commitment and a Christian ministry
to students, parents, the church community and the wider community
of which they are part;
- To promote Biblical Christian
scholarship particularly in the area of education;
- To promote the cause of Christian
education through research, publications and participation in the
field of education.
