New Christian Education Courses at Southland College!
November 2009

The Graduate Diploma in Education / Master of Teaching (Secondary) is here!

Are you thinking of a career in high school teaching?  Do you want to do this as a ministry, whether it is in a State school, or a Christian school?  Are you in leadership that involves education and do you want to understand it Biblically?

From 2010, Southland College will be offering a Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) (with and optional Master of Teaching Extension) program.  This is fully accredited (on completion of the Grad Dip Ed, the graduates are qualified to teach in any school in NSW and where ever NSW registration is recognised), Christian, and in distance education mode (apart from the one week orientation at the College and the 70 days where students will be gaining experience and support in a Christian or other school).

The other course development that will also help many in our schools is the Master of Education (Leadership).  This is a fully accredited, Christian and a fully distance education program.  It does not require the first degree to be an education one for people to be eligible.  It is designed for Christian teachers who wish to reflect more deeply on what it means to be a leader in the various complexities of school life.  It is also for those who are involved in leading educational ministries in other contexts.  Thus, entry into the M Ed Leadership program does not require an educational undergraduate degree.  (There is an M Ed program where this is required, as it is focused more on educational thought and development per se.)
